WOMEN FOR PEACE NETWORK (WPN), is a group of non-governmental organizations registered in accordance with the law and has the right to open branches in all areas of Iraq. It works to support, develop, implement, monitor and follow up the implementation of women peace and security agenda in Iraq.
It also keens on the importance of deepening joint work with civil society that work on women peace and security agenda at the national level in Iraq, including the Kurdistan Region, and to support the implementation of the Iraqi National Action Plan (I-NAP) to implement the United Nation Security Council Resolution (UNSCR-1325). The network emerged as an extension of the Iraqi initiative to support and develop the first Iraqi National Action Plan (I-NAP1) in April 2012.

To achieve a wider participation of women in peace and security-building operations in Iraq and to ensure that all possible ways to protect women and girls in situations of conflict and post-conflict situations and their contribution to building and sustaining security.
To contribute to the building and the sustainability of peace and security in Iraq by strengthening partnerships with civil society and the government and the International Community to achieve equality and social justice in all areas of life.
The WPN seeks to defend women and human rights and support the application of international conventions, treaties and United Nations Resolutions related to women peace and security agenda to protect women and ensure their participation in peace building during and post-conflicts.
