To enhance women's participation and representation in local governments in Sinjar district. Women Empowerment Organization (WEO) held a conference under the title of supporting a campaign to enhance the contribution of women and representation in local government in the Sinjar district.
The conference was conducted in cooperation with the High Council for Women Affairs with the support of the Canadian Fund for Local Initiatives, in Erbil on Feb 27th, 2017. The main purpose of the conference was to enhance the contribution of women in all the political spheres in Snjar District and fair contribution at local departments and take the perspective of women in terms of planning and rebuilding of the country into consideration. The conference was attended by 50 participants representing high-level officials, political parties, Academia, Civil Society Organizations and Media. The conference ended with many concrete recommendations that enhance women’s participation.
