With the invitation of Women Empowerment Organization in partnership with the Search for Common Ground organization, members of the Women for Peace Network participated in the first coordination meeting to engage women’s rights organizations and women’s leaders with networks working on the women’s peace and security agenda in Iraq.
Ms. Waylet Gorgees, Vice President of the Network, participated as a speaker in the first session, which was entitled “The work of Iraqi networks that work to contribute to supporting the implementation of the women, peace and security agenda and how to join the networks.”
Mrs. Batoul Al-Dagher, a member of the network, also participated as a speaker in the second session, which was about “developments and the most important challenges facing the work of women’s rights organizations and networks working to implement and follow up on the women, peace and security agenda.”
