WPN - Alliance 1325, in cooperation with the Department of Women's Empowerment in the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers and the United Nations Women in Iraq, held a virtual discussion entitled "A call for women's equity in amending the system of seats’ distribution in the upcoming elections in Iraq." The session discussed the controversy surrounding women’s quota in the Iraqi parliament between the law and its implementation. At the end of the discussion, the Women's Network for Peace presented a statement that included suggestions and recommendations regarding the organization and distribution of seats in accordance with the tables prepared by the Electoral Commission.
